India needs to enhance its existing transportation infrastructure to support its ever-growing population and needs of rapid industrialisation. The country’s large geography and rising passenger and goods traffic requires building adequate number of quality airports, high capacity road and rail network. Despite having one of the largest rail networks in the world, there are many parts of the country which still require to be connected.
